In 2024 we put our 465-hectare Dairy, Beef, Forestry Farm up for sale. Initially we had very little interest from buyers regarding the sale of the farm. We believed that potential dairy farmers were not interested in buying forestry, and forestry farmers were not interested in buying higher-priced dairy farmland.
Phil came up with the idea of subdividing the forestry from the dairy platform by possibly dividing the farm into two blocks. One block consisting of mostly forestry and the other block for dairy farming. This worked out to be the catalyst to bring back buyers wanting only forestry land and dairy farmers that wanted the lower dairy platform.
As a result of the subdivision, a higher total price was realized from the sale of the farm in November of 2024.
Phil did a fantastic job of keeping my wife and I fully informed during the marketing process.
